Daredevil: Born Again has a release date, so here’s when fans can see the Man Without Fear hit Disney+!

Created in 1963, Daredevil has been one of Marvel’s best-ever characters. For newbies, when he was a young child, Matt Murdock was accidentally doused with radioactive chemicals that blinded him. However, it also gave Matt super-enhanced senses as well as a “radar sense” to be able to “see” around him.

When his boxer father refused to take a dive and was murdered by mobsters, Matt wanted justice. After becoming a lawyer, Matt took on the identity of Daredevil to fight various criminals. The character hit a high point in the early 1980s under writer/artist Frank Miller, who made him darker and tougher while introducing his major foe of mob boss, the Kingpin and femme fatale Elektra.

The character was brought to life in a 2003 big screen movie starring Ben Affleck, which was poorly received. In 2015, Netflix brought the character back in its first Marvel series with Charlie Cox in the lead role and Vincent D’Onofrio as the Kingpin. It won huge acclaim from critics and comic book fans alike and soon led to spinoff shows Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, The Punisher and The Defenders.

The show ran three seasons with preparation starting on Season 4 only for Netflix to cancel the entire Marvel series line as Disney wanted the characters. There was concern this meant Cox’s time was done, but he ended up returning as Matt first for a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and then on She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, which had Daredevil wearing a new yellow suit.

Plans have been underway for Daredevil: Born Again, but hit a big snag in late 2023. Matt Corman and Chris Ord had been showrunners, but word was Marvel executives weren’t happy with their direction, which focused more on Matt as a lawyer and supposedly wouldn’t wear the DD suit until Episode 4. Thus, Corman and Ord were replaced by Loki co-directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead.

It does seem this leads to some big turns and now we know when the new show is coming!

When does Daredevil: Born Again hit?

At the New York Comic Con, Cox and D’Onofrio made a surprise appearance to share a teaser trailer with the crowd. They also announced the nine-episode series will hit Disney+ starting Tuesday, March 4, 2025.

The exact storyline is kept quiet for now. The title comes from what many consider the greatest Daredevil story ever, a 1986 epic written by Miller where the Kingpin discovers Matt’s secret identity to destroy his life.

By reports, the trailer shows plenty of familiar faces from the show: Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), Frank Castle aka Marvel’s infamous vigilante the Punisher (Jon Bernthal), and corrupt FBI agent Benjamin Poindexter (Wilson Bethel) who seems set to become DD’s iconic foe Bullseye.

The trailer also shows newer Daredevil enemy Muse and Kamar de los Reyes is shown in costume as the crimefighter White Tiger. There are rumors of appearances by other Marvel Netflix actors like Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, but nothing is confirmed. The plot also hints at adapting a recent storyline where the Kingpin manages to become Mayor of New York.

There are more details to come, such as the release schedule and further trailers, but Marvel fans can get set for the Man Without Fear to be Born Again next March.
