Remy's Ratatouille Adventure is one of the most popular rides at Walt Disney World's EPCOT. But frequent down times and a small ride capacity often results long wait times.

Unless you're rope dropping or catch the ride right after it reopens following a closure, you're probably going to wait at least 40 minutes. But more often than not, the queue will exceed one hour. It's not unheard of to see a wait time of 90 minutes.

To help alleviate the wait times, Disney has opened up single rider queue. Found on the far left side of hte attraction entrance, the single rider queue is exactly what it sounds like: a separate queue for park guests who don't mine riding alone.

Although you are able to get in the single rider queue with your entire party, there's no guarantee that you will all ride together. In fact, because of how the seating is set up, you'll almost certainly split up.

For those visiting alone or those who don't mind splitting up from their family, this is probably the quickest way to experience Remy's Ratatouille Adventure without spending additional money on Lightning Lane.

I'm actually hopeful it will help alleviate the normal queue as the ride's seating capacity often leaves room that goes unfilled. With the single rider queue, this now ensures that every ratmobile is filled to capacity.

This also means that families may be riding with a stranger. The ratmobiles feature two rows that can hold three, maybe four people at once if you don't mind squeezing as a family. But for families of four, you'll probably now be split 2-2 with a single rider in each row.

Squeezing three into a car can be uncomfortable depending on the size of each guest, but overall this is a great change that should hopefully result in lower overall wait times. Reports of the first day suggest the single rider queue is about five minutes or less, so this is a great way to ride if you're on a time crunch and don't mind splitting from your party.

At this point, it's unclear if the single rider queue is a permanent addition or of Disney is only opening this for the busy holiday season.
