Marvel Studios is reportedly eyeing a major Grammy-winner for major role in MCU (and it's NOT Taylor Swift)
Just a couple of months ago there were rumors that global superstar Taylor Swift would be appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The reports claimed that Swift would be cast as Dazzler for a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine.
It ultimately didn't prove true, but now there's new rumor that a another major musician could be cast in the MCU, and reportedly for a major role too.
Industry insider Daniel Richtman reports that Marvel Studios is interesting in signing Grammy and Academy Award-winning singer/songwriter Billie Eilish for a big role in the MCU.
While Eilish is best known for her incredible music -- her song "You Should See Me in a Crown" was used in a recent episode of Agatha All Along -- she did recently make her acting debut in Prime Video's Swarm where she played the sinister cult leader Eva. The "What Was I Made For" (Barbie) singer garnered lots of praise for her performance, and Eilish expressed a desire to continue acting.
She even stated how she wants to go even darker in her next role, perhaps opening up the opportunity to cast her as a villain in a future MCU project.
Marvel doesn't typically comment on rumors and likes to keep things like this a big mystery, so I don't expect any formal confirmation. But that won't stop us (and the Marvel fandom) from speculating!
Marvel has a ton of projects currently in the pipeline, but many believe the studio could be eyeing Eilish for a role in the upcoming X-Men reboot. Marvel hasn't officially announced an X-Men movie, but they've been slowly introducing the concept of mutants into the MCU for some time now.
Marvel Studios did just add three untitled movies to its 2028 film slate and many believe at least one of these could be an X-Men movie. While Eilish would seemingly be perfect for a villainous role, some fans suggest she could also play Rogue; however, reaction to this idea has been mixed on social media.
