8. Snow White’s Enchanted Wish
The original Snow White’s Scary Adventures lived up to its name, terrifying kids a bit too much. It was softened before it was demolished for the New Fantasyland in 2012. Disneyland did its own makeover to the ride that keeps some classic moments (the Evil Queen turning around to show her hag face) while adding fantastic new effects and retaining the old magic. It’s a reminder of how fun this ride could be, maybe better than the Seven Dwarfs Mine Car, and that Snow White deserves more of a showcase in WDW’s Fantasyland.
7. The Haunted Mansion Nightmare Before Christmas
In most ways, the WDW Haunted Mansion is superior in the scenes, the effects, and the overall theme. But every fall, the Disneyland version has the fantastic overlay that rethemes the Mansion to Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. It’s amazing how the scenes are transformed with new characters, effects, and music, and it has become a smashing success. It has been used at Tokyo Disneyland, yet somehow WDW has never gotten it, even though guests there would love to see Jack Skellington and crew pull off this takeover.
