Visiting a Disney World park can be overwhelming for even the most seasoned veterans and if you are a first-time visitor, you could be lost before you get inside.

Making the decision to head to Disney is step one of many. You will choose where you will stay, and how many days you will visit, make dining reservations, and read every blog or watch every video podcast to find out what you might miss or need to do.

Try this first. Relax. Take a deep breath and remember, this is your family vacation and your first visit to Disney and part of going is making mistakes trust me when I say this, you can plan for every contingency and you will still make a mistake.

I am not an "influencer" and I'm not going to tell you 100 things that you need to make sure you do. Instead, I'm going to give you four things that will make you enjoy your first trip to Disney regardless of what parks you visit or don't visit. In the end, the only thing that matters is for you to walk away and head home with a smile on your face.

Disney World dining is a big deal.

Before you go, while you are making your plans do something very simple. Download the Disney App to your phone, you will need it during your stay for just about everything. Then, click the dining options and select the days you want to actually dine at the parks.

Dining reservations are highly recommended and some can be a little hard to get even the day before. You can book ahead just to be safe, do it on the app, and if you need to cancel, make sure you do so in the allotted time frame.

What restaurant is entirely up to you. The menus are on the app so look at them and choose what is best for your family and the experience you are looking for. Forget everyone else's "Must try opinions" because they are opinions and mean nothing more than that.

My wife and I recently ate dinner at Be Our Guest and the reviews were not the best from many previous guests...we loved it! It is YOUR vacation, not anyone else's.
