It's been a while since we've last gotten an update on Star Wars Outlaws, a new open-world video game from Ubisoft. BUt this week, the publisher has plans to release a new trailer that will provide hopefully provide more insight into the story of the game and its main protagonist, Kay Vess.

Star Wars Outlaws was announced last summer and introduced as the first-ever open-world Star Wars game. Players step into the boots of the Kay Ves (played by Humberly González), a cunning scoundrel looking for a way out of the criminal underworld.

The game is set between the events of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, during a time when the criminal underworld thrives as the the Galactic Empire is relentlessly pursuing the final defeat of the Rebel Alliance.

Presented with an opportunity to start a new life, Kay Vess, alongside her loyal companion Nix, must pull off "one of the greatest heists the Out Rim has ever seen."

Ubisoft has shared a few videos for Star Wars Outlaws since its reveal, including one in which Kay Vess actor Humberly González talks in depth about bringing this new character to life. But we haven't really delved into the backstory of Vess, or her reasons for wanting to start anew.

Presumably, this new story trailer will provide additional context regarding Kay Vess, her role in the galaxy, and what sort of heist she'll have to pull off to earn a life of true freedom.

The Story Trailer world premiere for Star Wars Outlaws will be shared online on Tuesday, April 9 at 9:00 a.m. PST / 12 p.m. EST. It will be posted to the official Ubisoft YouTub channel, but of course we'll be covering it here as well.

Star Wars Outlaws is expected to release this year, and will be available for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
