Agatha All Along is a Marvel series and story that really doesn't need to be told

Sometimes, less is more and with the MCU, less these days is better

When the MCU left the big screen for the Disney home television screen, it seemed as though Disney was hitting on something that could be spectacular. Now, much in the same way Disney destroyed the Star Wars narrative with "small-screen" series on Disney Plus, the MCU has taken a similar turn that probably shouldn't have been done.

The next big thing in the MCU will be the next Captain America film but before we get there, fans who are trying to follow along will get "Agatha All Along" instead. The character first appeared in the WandaVision Disney Plus series. Now, the character will get a standalone and already we are wondering why it was necessary at all.

WandaVision made sense. It took viewers into Wanda's mind after she lost Vision to Thanos in the Avengers penultimate film. We see her creating a world where Vision is alive and well. The series also allowed the MCU to progress with Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness.

Not every MCU character needs a movie or a television series. Disney and Marvel learned nothing from the She-Hulk series or the Ms. Marvel series. The crossover of the latter was a box-office bomb that ruined the Captain Marvel story. Now we are seeing this all over again.

Will Agatha All Along work? The title has been through various changes, and the story wasn't one that left fans truly wanting more. Some fans are excited about the spin-off series but this is another one of those MCU series that won't be embraced by the casual fans. Most don't know who she is or what it is about other than the fact she was in WandaVision.

Disney is banking on the witch to bring something new to the channel and in doing so entice new susbcribers. It will be interesting if they succeed.
