Breaking: Jollywood Nights cancelled tonight due to weather

If you were hoping to attend Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios tonight, you won't be. The event has been cancelled due to weather concerns.

Florida will be under siege this weekend by a storm front that will dump rain over most of the entire state all weekend. Disney has decided to not go forward with the Hollywood Studios after-hours party for December 16th.

Park hours have not changed at this time and it will be interesting to see if they do. When Disney parks hold special events after hours or close early, the park hours rarely change if the event is canceled. That means if you are thinking that you could jump over to the park when it would normally have closed, it won't be shutting down early.

The park was scheduled to close at 8:00 pm tonight and that is not likely to change now that the event has been cancelled. At Hollywood Studios, most rides will remain open when there is adverse weather as the attractions are mostly outside. Slinky Dog Dash is likely going to be shut down.

For those with tickets to tonight's holiday event, you will get a full refund on your purchase. You will need to check with Disney regarding availability for future nights. Many nights are sold out considering Christmas is a week away.

The Hollywood Studios event has been met with mixed reviews since debuting last month.

The hours at the three other parks have not changed and despite the weather concerns will remain open although many rides across the parks may close for the evening. Hollywood was the only park with an after-hours festival scheduled this evening.
