With Star Wars in a bit of a rut of late, Disney is turning to one of the franchise's most beloved modern day characters in hopes of a rebound. A new rumor from industry insider Daniel RPK claims that Star Wars Jedi protagonist Cal Kestis will be making his live-action debut in a project "very soon."

The rumor was posted to Daniel RPK's Patreon, but it was light of details. The scooper claimed that he couldn't share much, other than the character's live-action debut would be on Disney+. This likely means Cal Kestis will appear in either a yet-to-be-revealed Star Wars series, or perhaps an already existing series.

Set between the events of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, the Star Wars Jedi games follow the adventures of Cal Kestis, one of the surviving Jedi currently being hunted by the Galactic Empire.

With Ahsoka Season 2 set after Return of the Jedi, an appearance in this series seems unlikely. And I doubt we'll see him appear in the upcoming show Skeleton Crew. Given the current Star Wars timeline, the best possibility for Cal Kestis seems to be Andor Season 2.

It's also worth noting that we don't know how big of a debut this will be. Will it be a simple cameo appearance for fan service or will it be a full-fledged debut of actual importance. Furthermore, will it jump-start a larger project for Cal Kestis, maybe in the form of his own series?

Excitement for Cal Kestis in live-action form is clearly here, but another big question we have is whether or not Cameron Monaghan will play the character on the small screen. Monaghan portrayed Kestis in the video games, with his likeness used for the character. He's also only 31 years old, so young enough to play Cal in show around the same period of Andor.

Keep in mind though, that nothing official has been announced by Disney or Lucasfilm, so treat this as nothing more than a rumor for now.
