The walls are getting closer to coming down around EPCOT's Communicore Hall and Plaza and now we know when.
Disney announced earlier on Thursday that guests should mark June 10th as a date of importance because, on that day, Communicore will open to the public.
It has been a long time coming for EPCOT. The endless walls of green wood have continued to shrink over the last year after having been in place for nearly three years. Now, there is at least another partial end in sight.
Disney also announced that "Celebration Encanto" will run between the opening and early September on the 6th. It will be a themed sing-a-long that will happen throughout the day in the Communicore Plaza.
Inside you will now find the return of the Mickey and Minnie "meet and greet" along with other characters at some point. There will be an enclosed area that will allow guests to escape the sun and heat of central Florida and get a break from the crowds.
The plaza will be home to entertainment throughout the year but it is unlikely to replace the American concert stage in World Showcase for festival concerts. In the evenings though, it could be a hot spot for entertainment as Disney put a lot of money into the pavilion.
With the construction walls finally coming down the cross through from The Land should also be fully open. On a recent trip, access to World Showcase's Port of Entry was closed off forcing guests to reroute around the construction.
