The Marvel Cinematic Universe may have found its savior in Deadpool. The self-proclaimed "Marvel Jesus" broke global records as the trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine — the official name for Deadpool 3 — racked up 365 million views in 24 hours.

According to Disney, this is now the most viewed movie trailer of all time.

We knew people were excited about the prospect of Deadpool and Wolverine appearing in a proper film together — especially after the trainwreck that was X-Men Origins: Wolverine — but did anyone expect it to smash global records?

In addition to the reveal of Deadpool & Wolverine, we also got an official synopsis for the film, which finds Wade Wilson in retirement after facing some professional setbacks while going through a midlife crisis.

"But when his friends, family, and the whole world are at stake, Deadpool decides to bring his katanas out of retirement," the synopsis continues. "He recruits an unwilling and wary Wolverine to not only fight for their survival, but ultimately, their legacy."

The official teaser only gave us a glimpse of the back of Wolverine, dressed in his iconic yellow suit, but some things are better left a surprise. I, for one, won't be watching any more trailers until Deadpool & Wolverine hits theaters this summer.

Deadpool & Wolverine is slated to arrive in theaters in the U.S. and Canada on July 26. It will be available in IMAX, RealD 3D, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, Cinemark XD and premium screens everywhere.

The highly anticipated threequel is directed by Shawn Levy (Free Guy) and sees the return of Ryan Reynolds as the titular Merc with a Mouth. After seemingly stepping away from the role of Wolverine in Logan, Hugh Jackman is once again back as the adamantium-clawed mutant. They are joined by Emma Corinn, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni and Matthew Macfadyen.
