Disney+ announces premiere date for The Santa Clauses Season 2
Disney+ fans are getting an early Christmas gift. The streamer has announced the premiere date for Season 2 of The Santa Clauses, continuing the series based on the hit movies. When does it premiere?
It’s been almost 30 years since The Santa Clause became a surprise box office smash for Disney. Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) was a hard-working divorced dad who accidentally knocked Santa Claus off his roof on Christmas Eve. Putting on the suit, Scott was whisked to the North Pole and informed he was the new Santa. At first doubtful, he soon grew into the role.
The film was a huge hit and later inspired a 2002 sequel. There, Scott was told every Santa needs a Mrs. Clause and wooed school principal Carol (Elizabeth Mitchell) to marry him. A 2006 follow-up, The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause, had Scott clashing with Jack Frost (Martin Short).
The Santa Clauses premiered on Disney+ in 2022 as Scott thinks it’s time to hang it up and let a new Santa take over. The show played on how there have been various Santas across history as Scott chose game inventor Simon as his successor. However, Simon turned out to be the wrong choice, going too far literally making every day Christmas and losing his faith in the holiday.
In the end, Scott and his family were able to stop Simon and Scott becoming Santa again. That was a great finale that Season 2 builds on.
What is Season 2 of The Santa Clauses about?
Season 2 has Scott and the family getting back into the Christmas business as Scott hopes to convince his son Calvin to one day take over for him. They have to clash with Kris “Kringle” Moreno, who runs a Santaland theme park. A bigger threat is Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet as Magnus Antas, aka the “Mad Santa” of the 14th century, who is now back to reclaim the North Pole.
It looks like another wild adventure that captures the offbeat humor of the franchise.

The Season 2 premiere drops November 8 with the first two episodes on Disney+. New episodes then drop every Wednesday, with the six-episode season concluding December 6.
