Summer is in full swing and if you’re looking for an affordable summer activity to enjoy between spending time at the Disney Parks this summer look to the skies over at Disney Springs!

This May, Disney introduced yet another must-see event to its summer slate in the form of Disney Dreams That Soar, a new drone show that uses state-of-the-art drones to create a stunning show featuring some of the most beloved characters from Disney’s library.

Set to iconic Disney music and dialogue from a variety of movies including Toy Story, Coco, Dumbo, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Star Wars, the show unfolds with drones creating towering structures up to 400 feet tall and forming enchanting images of Disney characters from past and present eras of the studios’ storied history. Lasting nearly 10 minutes, this unique spectacle brings Disney stories to life in a way that feels as exhilarating as flying alongside them and the best part is that the show can be enjoyed free of cost to guests of Disney Springs.

Disney Dreams That Soar began nightly performances in late May and will run through September 2, at Disney Springs West Side, specifically along the waterfront between Cirque du Soleil Theatre and Aerophile – The World Leader in Balloon Flight.

Disney Dreams That Soar review: A breathtaking spectacle for all ages

During a recent visit to Orlando, I had the opportunity to check out the Disney Dreams That Soar drone show, and the event can best be summed up as breathtaking.

As I stood among the crowd in attendance at one of the nightly performances, I found myself in absolute awe as I watched Disney pull off what can only be described as a magical showcase that blended together technology with Disney magic. I was truly blown away by the show and how seamlessly Disney wove the story together featuring characters that have been a part of my life for decades now as well as newer characters who have stolen my heart in recent years as a Disney adult.

During the Marvel segment of the showcase featuring the Guardians of the Galaxy, I found myself overwhelmed with emotion, tears of joy literally swelling up in my eyes.

Now maybe it was because I was coming down from a day full of magical moments including getting to experience Magic Kingdom for the first time and the opportunity to be among the first to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure but, as a lifetime Marvel fan who grew up on shows like X-Men: The Animated Series and Spider-Man who then watched these character on the big screen and later fell in love with the MCU, I was simply overcome with joy seeing the Guardians dancing across the sky through the magic of the show.

What makes the Disney Dreams That Soar show so special is that the show truly has something for everyone. There are nods to classic Disney movies, Pixar favorites, Marvel, Star Wars, and even characters who have become iconic figures at the Disney parks such as Figment and Orange Bird, with Disney making sure there are moments across the show for Disney fans of every age.

While you can indeed enjoy videos of the show on social media – including courtesy of our Along Main Street TikTok – the show is one that you really have to experience in person as videos don’t do the show justice. The only way to truly appreciate the magic that Disney has created via the Disney Dreams That Soar show is to experience the show live in person, and thanks to Disney Spring serving as the backdrop for the show, it’s an activity that is perfect for those on a budget looking for a memorable experience that will leave a lasting impression.

So if you happen to be heading out to Orlando this summer, don’t miss your chance to see the Disney Dreams That Soar show now through September 2 at Disney Springs. Trust me, the potential crowds and summer heat will be worth it as this is one show that Disney fans will not want to miss!
