Disney Pixar's Inside Out 2 finally has a Disney+ release date

Disney and Pixar's Inside Out 2 was one of this year's biggest releases, and soon you'll be able to watch it from the comfort of your home. Disney announced that the hit sequel will arrive on its home streaming platform Disney+ this month!

More specifically, you'll be able to stream the movie on Disney+ beginning Septemberr 25th, so less than two weeks!

A sequel Pixar's 2015 film, Inside Out 2 is a coming-of-age story that returns to the newly minted teenager Riley. Two years after her move to San Francisco, Riley — now 13--years-old — is entering high school. And as you can imagine, she's experiencing all sorts of mixed emotions, both new and old.

Joy (Amy Poehler), Sadness (Phyllis Smith), Anger (Lewis Black), Fear (Tony Hale) and Disgust (Liza Lapira) are all still present and running a smooth and successful operation. But things are thrown into a whirlwind by the arrival of some new emotions closely associated with puberty: Anxiety (Maya Hawke), Envy, Embarrassment, and Ennui. Inside Out 2 was directed by Kelsey Mann and produced by Mark Nielsen.

Released in theaters back in June, Inside Out 2 was a much-needed win for Disney and Pixar at the box office. It set multiple records on its way to becoming the highest-grossing animated film of all-time, including the fastest animated film to reach $1 billion globally. It is currently the 4th highest grossing Disney movie and the 8th highest grossing film in global box office history.

Inside Out 2 wasn't just a commercial success, but a critical darling as well. The film boasts a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes (officially Certified Fresh) among critics and an even more impressive 95% from general audience viewers.

"Spicing things up with the wrinkle of teenage angst, Inside Out 2 clears the head and warms the heart by living up to its predecessor's emotional intelligence," the critics consensus reads.
