Disney has finally revealed who will be featured on the next Annual Passholder magnet, and if you guessed from the previous teaser that it would be a character from Moana, well, you are correct! But it's not Maui.
Revealed today, Hei Hei will featured on the soon-to-release Annual Passholder magnet. Disney shared a brief video on social media confirming the character's debut on the magnet.
When and where can you pick up the Disney Annual Passholder Hei Hei Magnet?
For those who want to pick up the newest Hei Hei magnet, it will be available starting January 29. You'll be able to pick it up at EPCOT in the Creations Shop, which is located in World Celebration near the entrance.
It's said that the magnet will only be available until February 23rd, while supplies last. There is a limit of one magnet per passholder.
As you can see, it's an absolutely adorable magnet that perfectly encapsulates the accident-prone rooster. For those unfamiliar with Moana -- first of all, how dare you -- Hei Hei is a stowaway on Moana's canoe when she embarks on her journey beyond the island. The character's stupidity serves as some nice comic relief.
I don't know how Disney chooses which characters to highlight on their magnets, but EPCOT just opened up its Journey of Water interactive walkthrough, which is inspired by Moana, so it can't be a coincidence that the latest magnet features a character from the movie. I don't think this necessarily promotes the attraction
Disney's Annual Passholder magnets are one of the few remaining additional perks of being an passholder. They don't completely make up for the removal of many previous AP perks, but they are a nice treat and have become somewhat of a collectible for many. My refrigerator is adorned with dozens of magnets we've collected over the years.
While many of the magnets have focused on the "Fab Five," we're starting to see Disney branch out a bit more and make use of their other characters and properties. Prior to Heihei, Disney released an Oswald magnet. We've also gotten magnets for Remy and Figment.
