On the heels of Comic-Con and just days before the D23 Expo, Disney has shuffled its upcoming movie slate. While some previously announced movies have been removed or retitled, Disney has also added a slew of untitled films to the schedule.
Variety has a complete breakdown of Disney's full calendar update, which includes movie projects from its main studio as well as Marvel, Pixar, and Disney Animation.
Some of the updated dates are reflective of the announcements made by Marvel Studios at San Diego Comic-Con last month. This includes Avengers: Doomsday replacing Avenger: The Kang Dynasty on May 1, 2026, and the updated titles and release dates for The Fantastic Four: First Steps as well as Thunderbolts. Marvel has also removed an untitled film that had been previously scheduled for July 24, 2026, which is in line with Disney CEO Bob Iger's mandate to reduce the number of feature films to just two or three per year.
Interestingly, Marvel's Blade remains on the calendar, dated for November 7, 2025, even though the film still has had no substantial update since it was first announced back in 2019. The highly anticipated movie is set to star Mahershala Ali, but currently has no director attached. We also did not get any sort of update on the film's production status at Comic-Con, which led to speculation that it may be delayed.
