4. Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer Island

I'll be honest... I had pretty low expectations about this attraction as I got on the raft to head over with my family. To my surprise, Tom Sawyer Island ended up being one of my children's favorite places. It was essentially a big maze to them with pathways throughout the island. The Pirates Lair is amazing for younger children. I think my kids would have stayed there for hours if they had the choice. One word of caution about the Pirates Lair is that it's not designed for adults. I was following my kids, and I got to the point where I was just about stuck... I freaked out a bit at that point, but we made it! Might be good to tell your kids about a location to meet up if you get split up in the Pirates Lair, but other than that, I think younger children will enjoy this portion of Disneyland.
