Festival of the Arts set to kick off in min-January at EPCOT
By Brian Miller
While not as high-profile as the Food and Wine Festival or nearly as gorgeous as the Flower and Garden Festival, EPCOT's Festival of the Arts kicks off the 2024 festival season.
On January 12th, the Festival of the Arts will return to EPCOT as the first festival of 2024 continuing the annual tradition.
Guests will be able to sample culinary art in addition to perusing the kiosks that will be selling Disney-inspired art. Throughout the course of the festival, renowned and local artists will make appearances at EPCOT and as the festival itself progresses, more food carts will open.
The art festival is the shortest of the three festivals held at EPCOT. It will run just over a month closing down on February 19th.
Returning this year will be the Expression Section where guests can contribute to a giant wall mural using a paint by number system. At the Animation Academy, kids and adults alike can get a quick lesson in how to draw a Disney character. Kids can also add chalk drawings to the World Showcase sidewalks in certain locations.
Live music can be found around World Showcase and Disney on Broadway returns as well with shows performed on the American Gardens Theater stage. Showtimes will run daily during the festival at 5:30, 6:45, and 8:00 pm.
This year will feature Caissie Levy and Patti Murin from Frozen. They will appear throughout January on the 12th, 14th, 15th, 18th, 20th, 22nd, and 23rd. On the other days of January, Gavin Lee, Beauty and the Beast, and Heidi Blickenstaff, The Little Mermaid will perform.
In February, guests can catch, Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins) and L. Steven Taylor (The Lion King) as well as Josh Strickland from Tarzan and Kissy Simmons from The Lion King.
