"Walk Like an Egyptian" by The Bangles

"Walk Like An Egyptian" by The Bangles isn't going to be the most recognized song on this list but almost everyone has likely heard it at some point in their life and it would make for an interesting addition to Cosmic Rewind.

The tambourine intro is quick enough that when the guitar riffs and drum beats hit for the opening sequence of "take off" you are full throttle heading back in time. And considering that the lyrics include a callback to Egyptians, there is a feeling of not only nostalgia but also time travel which is themed at the very heart of Cosmic Rewind.

The only downside to this song is by the time Susanna Hoffs gets her vocal solo, the ride is just about over. And for most fans of the band and the song, Hoffs' part is one of the best. I think that Vicki Peterson's intro vocals, however, lift this to the point that by the time you get off the ride, you don't really care.

Still, the rhythm of the song is perfect for a ride that needs a high-energy thump, thump, thump, and "Walk Like an Egyptian" provides that from the opening sequence.

"Walk Like an Egyptian" is sure to get your blood pumping out of the gate and let's be frank, it is far closer to being a fit than say, "Conga." Imagine the photo of entire cars of riders who "Shift their arms and then you pull it back"...like sarge, you know!

Unlike most songs, this one will at least stick in your head, good or bad, long after the ride is over.
