It's time to bring home the third and final part of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3! It was announced today that a Blu-ray arrival date is now scheduled and you won't have to wait too long.

Directed by James Gunn, the final installment of the GOTG trilogy will arrive on August 1st, 2023 — just over a month from now.

The film will be available in several formats including standard definition, HD, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD and will feature a slew of special features including a behind-the-scenes look from the cast on the evolution of the characters and story. James Gunn will also be featured in a bonus that outlines the creation of Rocket Racoon which Vol. 3 centers around.

The film wasn't one of the best Marvel movies financially but was well-received and exit polls were positive throughout the film's theatrical run that began in early May. It has grossed over $820 million worldwide.

You don't have to wait for the Blu-ray to catch Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 at home, however.

On July 7th, Guardians of the Galaxy will release to VOD. It is unclear if GOTGV3 will be available for rent on July 7th or just for purchase which has been the case in the past for newer released VOD movies. You can, however, check your favorite streamer for prices on the 7th. VUDU, Apple TV, Amazon, and others will have the movie available.

Naturally, many fans want to know when the film will arrive on Disney+. That date has yet to be set and many believed it would follow previous films with it's release window which would have put the film on the Disney subscription service in late August.

That still may be the case as Disney has changed things with each property depending on how they view the monetary advantages. In this case, leaving GOTGV3 as a purchase option only for a full month makes sense but I would expect the Disney+ release to be earlier than late August if the Blu-Ray release is August 1st. There is an unconfirmed rumor that the film could arrive on July 8th while another rumor has it set for August 2nd.

Bonus features for the hard-disc release. Note: Not all features may be available on non-Blu-ray or 4k versions.
