Although summer is a popular time for many to visit Walt Disney World, the most magical time of year to visit the parks is fall and winter. The fall and winter decor just adds a special sprinkle of magic to the parks.

Even though we just now entered August and fall technically doesn't begin until September 23, Disney is kicking things off a little early. Fall decor has started to arrive in Walt Disney World, with the social media team posting a picture of Mickey and Minnie posing on Main Street next to a patch of pumpkins.

Visiting Walt Disney World during spooky season is my absolute favorite time of year. Even though it's still a blistering 90-plus degrees outside, there's something about the glowing pumpkins lining Main Street that makes me feel like it's fall in Florida.

I know there are some of you who are probably groaning that it's "too early" for fall. But Florida doesn't have seasons to begin with, so it's all a moot point anyway.

Plus, you have to figure there are many families who only get to visit Walt Disney World maybe once a year, if not longer. For them, this could be the only chance they get to see Disney's Halloween decor. Why limit it to just a few actual fall months?

The arrival of fall decor at Magic Kingdom comes just as we prepare for the start of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The special ticketed event is scheduled to kick off on August 11, a little over a week from now. Disney recently revealed over 30 delectable treats you can get in the parks that have been created specially for the Halloween season. Plus there's tons more planned around Walt Disney World. Minnie's Seasonal Dining at Hollywood & Vine in Disney's Hollywood Studios has a fall overlay with a "chilling Halloween feast" while various Walt Disney World Resort hotels will offer fall-themed food and beverage items, including Thanksgiving meals.
