According to reports, specifically WDWNT.com, Muppet Vision 3D is getting a big makeover and for someone who has been banging the drum to have this attraction either replaced entirely or moved to the other side of the park, the news isn't good.
It is no secret that I loathe the 3D attraction and really see no purpose of it being where it is at. It should be over in the Animation Courtyard with the Disney Jr. character meet and greets and other kids stuff. Conversely, I bang the drum for Star Wars Launch Bay to be moved to the current Muppet 3D location.
Looks like I won't be getting my wish any time soon.
New seats, according to WDWNT.net are being installed. They will replace the old tattered seats that have been in serious need of upgrade. Outside the theater, new banners are replacing the old washed-out banners. Maybe they will replace the worn-out Miss Piggy Statue of Liberty statue out in front next.
It amazes me that Disney Imagineers have yet to find a suitable replacement for Muppet 3D. Maybe they could simply turn the theater into something far more fun, like a live view of the three other parks. Yes, I absolutely do not like Muppets 3D.
Still, the changes needed to be made and since Disney isn't going to shut it down or replace it, they may as well make it more appealing and comfortable. They should attack the rather large foyer which everyone is crammed into prior to the theater entry.
I would say this is just me but almost 5 year old son tried to walk out of the show and told me "This is soooo boring!". I agree and changing the seats and banner won't entice me anytime soon to visit again. Not when I can wait an hour for Alien Swirling Saucers.
