For years, Marvel fans have been waiting and watching and waiting and praying for a Wolverine and Deadpool movie and Ryan Reynolds' constant push with Hugh Jackman is about to pay off in a riduculous way.

Disney's first venture into an "R-rated" feature film with the Marvel Cinematic Universe is looking more and more likely to cross the $200 million mark on opening weekend. Current projections have film set to hit between $200 and $239 million, according to box office reports. Oh, and this is just the domestic projections.

The Quorum, per Deadline, has put the six-week tracking models at those numbers and if they hold true, it would totally obliterate the previous domestic box-office best of $132 million, the original Deadpool movie. The best overall box-office leader for an R-rated film is $1.079 billion, that was The Joker in 2019.

Crossing $200 million would be an absolutely amazing feat for a movie of this type. While the original Deadpool film was applauded, the sequel didn't bring much new to the character or the story arc. Now, the addition of Wolverine, the return of Hugh Jackman, and Wolverine's appearance in his traditional "yellow" suit have fans burning up the streaming of trailers.

The film won't release until July 26th but it already drawing a lot of attention. Currently the best summer movie is Disney/Pixar's Inside Out 2 which debuted this weekend. It is estimated to cross the $100 million opening weekend mark. Deadpool and Wolverine look to shatter that.

UPDATE: Inside Out 2 came in well above weekend projections hitting $155 million for the Father's Day weekend!
