Meet and greet with this Inside Out character will be coming to an end, sort of

EPCOT is making a character meet and greet change later this summer when Joy, from Inside Out will be leaving the theme park.

Joy, the main character of the brain in Pixar's great Inside Out series will be leaving her room at EPCOT and taking the Skyliner to Hollywood Studios. Honestly, I think that would be a pretty cool transition actually. Can you see her walk through EPCOT and out the back entry of World Showcase, jump into a Skyliner car (Inside Out) of course, and make the 10-minute trek to Hollywood?

I think that would be such a blast but there is no way that Disney would do that.

At Hollywood Studios, a brand new Pixar Plaza will open and on June 10th, Joy will start her new life at Hollywood.

Previously, and well, currently, Joy can be found in the Imagination Station building where Figment riders can catch a glimpse of her on their way out and guests can line up to meet her and get photos.

There hasn't been any word on whether or not other characters from the film will make appearances at Pixar Plaza. Previously, Sadness had been a part of the meet and greet before Joy was moved to the Imagination building, and Sadness, sadly, was not.

Having Joy at Hollywood makes a lot more sense than at EPCOT even if it were in the world of imagination. Pixar needs its own space.

Opening last May, Pixar Plaza can be found as you head toward Toy Storyland. It is a longer stretch of road between buildings and you should easily find characters from the films ready to meet you.
