Moana Journey of Water opening date and new meet and greet coming to EPCOT

Announced at D23 on Saturday, we now have an opening date for Moana: Journey of Water. The walk-through attraction will open on October 16th, 2023 (three days after I leave Orlando).

Journey of Water invites guests to stroll through a world of interactive water fountains amid lush vegetation in an area themed around the Disney hit film. The attraction has been a long time coming and part of the re-imagination and re-build of EPCOT's central core, or World Celebration.

Technically, Journey of Water will be a part of World of Nature or as we currently know it as The Land.

In addition to the news about the grand opening, we also learned through the D23 event that there will be an area where guests can meet Moana in person. Another great character addition to an already loaded character park that includes Disney princesses around World Showcase, as well as other characters in and around the park.

D23 also has intentions on bringing Figment to life for another meet and greet as Disney starts to look at increasing the purple dragon's presence in the park. Can they also re-theme Journey Into Imagination as well? Please?

There is so much news coming out of D23 that we are still trying to wrap our heads around it. For EPCOT the news doesn't stop with just this new addition but also a big change is coming to another part of the park. Teaser? What will re-theme of Test Track look like? We are going to find out!
