At the recent Disney D23 Fan Event, the new trailer for Disney's next "live-action" remake debuted and for the most part, it hasn't been met with a lot of love.

Many times, a trailer for a film shows off the best of what a movie-goer will see on the screen. After watching a film, many will say the "trailer was better" when a film doesn't meet the expectations. For Snow White and Seven Dwarfs, Disney doesn't have to worry about that. If the film is better than the trailer, it might not be all that good.

Snow White is becoming a huge letdown, and the first trailer leaves a lot to be desired. The "dwarfs" are caricatures at best. They are digital animation that stands out as being out of place in an otherwise live-action world. Disney has done so much better bringing animation to life, like in The Lion King live-action film, than anything they showcased here.

The only saving grace may be the performance expectations of Gal Gadot bringing the Evil Queen to life. Then again, everyone is questioning why "the mirror" would think that Snow White was the "Fairest of them all" in comparison. That is only a small problem with what was shown for the upcoming film.

To put it best, the new trailer looks far more like a knockoff attempt at a Thomas Kincaid painting than it does a live-action version of a classic animated feature, "the" classic Disney animated feature.

Renee Zegler is a fine actress but Disney did a great job of hiding just how out of place she looks as Snow White. She doesn't seem to attack the character with any real form of, well, acting. She seems out of place from the start and even the musical number falls flat and out of tune.

The film will release in 2025 and frankly, there doesn't seem to be much hope.
