Orbit One Vacation Villas: The best off-property hotel near Walt Disney World

How do you choose your hotel when you plan a Disney trip? Do you look for a property within the Disney resort area that exists on Disney property or do you look beyond what they define as a bargain resort and look outside of resort property?

For many who have made the trip to Orlando in the past, they will tell you that once you get off property the prices drop considerably while the options grow. I have stayed at quite a few but by far my go-to is Orbit One Vacation Villas.

Expedia lists Orbit One as a value resort and it can range in price from the low $100's to the uppers but overall, there is a reason you should consider it. The location is probably the best you can get off park property and it has a major advantage to most hotels.

To skip all the other stuff and to jump right into the point, Orbit One is located on Irlo Bronson and those that know that road know how horrible the traffic is. Truth be told, unless you are on Hotel Drive next to Disney Springs, you are dealing with the absolute worst traffic in Orlando.

Orbit, however, is located across Irlo if you are on Sherberth Road which practically dead-ends into Animal Kingdom. A quick hop across Irlo and you are on your way into Disney by a back road that will get you to all the parks in under 10 minutes...with traffic.

Orbit One is a Diamond Resort hotel and that means that staying there will likely be one of those, "Hey want to earn a weeks stay by sitting for an hour" type talks. Just say no and go about your day.

The hotel has a great pool with a slide and hot tub. It is next to just about any food you can think of and just about everyone will deliver via Uber Eats so you don't actually have to leave if you don't want to but the best part is these rooms are resort rooms not hotel rooms.

What does that mean? Well, you will be in a one or two bedroom suite instead of a hotel room which is perfect for families who don't want to feel cramped. The living roooms have pullout couches for the larger families but overall, there is more than enough space for families. We have six total in ours and even with my sons girlfriend we had more than enough room.

The kitchens are big and there is a huge dining table. Full size refridegerators and cookwear make this stand way above the local hotels that might offer you a lot less for a lot more.

The next time you are planning a trip to Disney, check out the pricing for Orbit One. Look at the map for the location and see just how close you are to the Disney parks. A quick 20 minute drive down I-4 will get you to Universal Studios and SeaWorld although I recommend taking the back roads to them as well considering how bad I-4 is.
