Hollywood Studios is doing something that frankly is long overdue, they are testing the viability of a single-rider line for Rise of the Resistance. We have maintained that every ride attraction at every Disney World park should have a single rider line. It makes the most sense and those attractions that do offer it, typically have better wait times.

Resistance could now become another permanent attraction with the option. In Galaxy's Edge, Smuggler's Run already uses a one person line that guests can run through and cut their wait times down to less than 30 minutes and in some cases no wait at all. Rise should be no different.

What will be interesting is how they utilize the single riders. The attraction actually starts with a pre-attraction featuring a hologram of Rey. Guests are then whisked off to a transport shuttle before they enter a second set of lines ahead of the sit-down attraction. This is where the single rider line will begin. In other words, you will miss Rey, you will miss the shuttle being attacked and captured by the First Order, and you will miss the amazing Star Destroyer docking bay with the stormtroopers.

Single riders will be seated in open cars with other guests as the attraction turns from its standing segment to the sit-down segment that concludes the attraction. For those who have ridden the attraction previously, this may be one of those things that don't matter, but if you have never been on it, you may want to stand in the real line at least once.
