Star Wars: Disney Plus Ahsoka Episode 5 easter eggs
Ahsoka just unveiled its most amazing episode yet! Here’s a guide to the great Easter eggs and hidden bits for “The Fallen Warrior.”
Caution: This article contains SPOILERS for Ahsoka Episode 5
Not fighting
When Ahsoka meets Anakin (Hayden Christensen), they briefly duel with Ahsoka saying, “I will not fight you.” Anakin merely smirks. “I’ve heard that before.” This references Luke saying that to Vader in Return of the Jedi, proving this is Anakin after his redemption and death. It’s also a call-back to the pair dueling when Anakin was Vader.
Calls to the past
When they first meet, Anakin remarks Ahsoka looks old, much like Rex joked when he and Ahsoka reunited in Rebels. Also, when they part, Anakin says Ahsoka “might just make it one day,” which goes all the way back to their first mission together.
Leia’s cover
Carson tells Hera that, “Senator Organa can only cover for us so long.” That, of course, is Leia, who at this point in the timeline, is a senator in the New Republic. As the sequels showed, Leia eventually realized the Republic couldn’t handle the rise of the First Order and broke away to start the Resistance. This shows even then, Leia was willing to bend the rules to help people she knew were fighting the battles the Republic was ignoring.
The uniforms
A fantastic sequence has Ahsoka transformed into her younger self in the era of the Clone Wars (played by Ariana Greenblatt). She wears the same uniform she did then, as does Anakin. There’s also a cameo from Temuera Morrison as Captain Rex, their go-to clone trooper commander.
The Vader appearance
Throughout her vision, Ahsoka sees Anakin flashing between how he once was and as Darth Vader. It leads to another duel with Anakin now wielding a red lightsaber and the soundtrack playing touches of the Imperial March.
The ocean’s status
It’s a subtle bit but still genius. When Ahsoka falls into the ocean, it’s turbulent with crashing waves, showing how Ahsoka herself was feeling lost and without direction. When she emerges from it with a new attitude, the ocean is now tranquil to show how Ahsoka has found peace with herself.
The white robes
As Ahsoka prepares to take those massive space whales to find Ezra, she now has donned the same white robes she wore in the final scene of Rebels. It’s a great moment as Ahsoka has finally embraced her status as a full Jedi master and is ready to find her friend.
Ahsoka airs Tuesdays on Disney+.
