Earlier this month, as part of the Summer Games Fest celebration, Ubisoft unveiled its highly anticipated Star Wars game, now officially titled Star Wars Outlaws. Developed by Massive Entertainment, the same studio behind Ubisoft's The Division franchise, Star Wars Outlaws is the first ever open-world Star Wars game — an incredible note considering we've head decades of games set in the iconic galaxy far, far away.

Star Wars Outlaws is set in between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi and follows a new character named Kay Vess. A scoundrel seeking freedom from her high-stakes lifestyle, Vess is given the opportunity to start a new life. In order to achieve such freedom though, she must first pull off one of the biggest heists the Outer Rim has ever seen.

Vess is portrayed by actress Humberly González. You can learn more about this brand new character, along with her trusty companion Nix in the video spotlight below.

During the Summer Games Fest showcase Ubisoft not only revealed the game with an incredible premiere trailer but also debuted a lengthy 10-minute gameplay walkthrough, giving us a first-hand look at the highly anticipated game.

The video below drops us in the middle of a daring mission that soon turns south. After escaping by vehicle, we get a glimpse at the impressive cinematic storytelling and eventually even get to see just how expansive this new game will be. She takes off into space where we then proceed to engage in space combat. When asked where to go next by Nix, Vess appropriately responds, "Anywhere we want."

The video ends with a quick snapshot at all the different planets and characters you'll meet across your journey.

Star Wars Outlaws doesn't yet have a release date but has a slated release window for some time in 2024. It will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
