California Adventure is more daunting than it seems 

On the face of it, California Adventure may seem like an easy park to get around. That’s until you pass through the gates and realize that it feels much bigger. Most folks go right for Radiator Springs, a ride that can get two-hour waits in no time flat. The Marvel section is just as popular with Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout and Spider-Man: Web-Slingers. Pixar Pier is always packed with Toy Story Mania, among other rides, and Soarin' gets much longer lines than in Epcot. Thus, going in thinking this park is going to be a breeze can be a mistake. 

Think you can fit it all in on one short trip

For people who are used to park hopping in Disney World and being able to fit a lot into a long weekend, it can be easy to assume a day or two is enough for Disneyland. It’s not. As noted, many rides have longer lines, and there is a lot more packed into two parks than one might assume. My family had three days, and even then, with a VIP tour and staying at Disneyland Hotel, there were a few things we missed. It may be smaller, but Disneyland can still push guests to the limits.
