The worst "live action" remakes of Disney classic movies

Disney must have run out of original ideas over the last decade and turned to updating their classics with 'live action' versions.

Disney decided that it would be a good idea to bring Pinocchio to the big screen as a "live action" remake. It wasn't.

The biggest issue was there had been so many other "Pinocchio" movies over the years in some form. Disney had yet to remake their own original animated feature and someone thought, this would be a good idea. Tom Hanks was a the center once again of a Disney film but his turn as Geppetto wasn't good enough to take the film to a better level.

This film was nearly dead from the start. Dumbo was a failure and despite Robert Zemeckis directing the project, Disney went back and forth on where to release it. It was pulled from Disney+ only to be taken off the theatrical schedule and put back on Disney+.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the film received a 28% review score with a 4.8 of 10 star score. The film was nothing more than an almost identical shot-for-shot film with computer graphics instead of hand-drawn animation.

If we put this into more perspective, several critics again asked the question, why? And that still holds true.
