Can stunt shows make a comeback?

The current shows around do indicate there’s still an audience for such affairs. One would think Disney would use their long list of IPs to feature some show centering around Marvel or Star Wars characters. Indeed, an idea for Galaxy’s Edge appeared to be a Jedi vs Sith fight but that never came off.

Pirates of the Caribbean seems a natural for a fancy show on water and there are still a lot of Disney-owned properties that can work. If nothing else, a refresh of the Indy stunt show might be long overdue, integrating other movies into it while retaining the original’s flavor.

There is something captivating about watching folks risking themselves in these things and with the right theme, it could really connect. A big explosive finale is great yet just watching how these stunts are put together and pulled off safely can be more entertaining than a typical green-screen filled show.

It is interesting to see how The Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular was both joining a trend and inspiring a new wave of it that it now appears to have endured. It’s still a fun link to the original version of the Studios and one has to wonder if it can still go on and maybe start a new trend of such shows in the future.
