Late last year, Disney and Marvel cut ties with actor Jonathan Majors following his conviction on assault charges. It wasn't a terribly surprising move, given what we knew about the case, but it did throw the Marvel Cinematic Universe into a bit of a whirl as Majors played a major role in the MCU as its main villain, Kang.

Despite his immense talents and what he brought to the role, Disney couldn't keep Majors on board. Which put them in a tough spot, do they move on from Kang entirely or do they recast him?

The ending of Loki Season 2 seemed to provide an out for the character and storyline with rumors that Disney could move on to another big baddie, Doctor Doom. Or they can hire a new actor and try to pass him off as a variant of Kang, which looks to be the option Disney and Marvel may be leaning toward.

No one knows for certain what Disney and Marvel are planning to do, but new rumors are suggesting the company is eying a very talented actor to take on the role of Kang: John David Washington

Yes, Denzel Washington's very talented son, who has led in movies like Tenet, BlacKkKlansman and Malcolm & Marie is the latest to be rumored as the potential new Kang. Most recently, John David Washington starred in Gareth Edwards' sci-fi blockbuster The Creator, a role in which he was quite impressive.

Obviously replacing Majors would be no easy feat. He brought ominous depth and an intimidating stature to the character of Kang. But at the same time, John David Washington is a fantastic actor and I'd love to see what he could do with the character.

Nothing is set in stone right now, but I'd prefer Marvel keep going with the Kang storyline, even if it means recasting the character.
