Tickets for Walt Disney Animation's Wish are now on sale
Disney's next big magical adventure, Wish, is scheduled to arrive in theaters in November and tickets for the movie are now officially on sale. In celebration of the presale, Walt Disney Animation has released two exclusive posters for the film.
Both posters feature Asha front and center with a hopeful look in her eye and an adventurous spirit radiating from her pose. But next to her lurks the ominous King Magnifico. Also featured on the poster is Asha's pet goat Valentino along with a couple of other animal friends, and Queen Amaya.
Courtesy of Rotten Tomatoes, we also have an exclusive Wish featurette that offers a behind-the-scenes look at the production of Wish and how the film ties into Disney's 100 year anniversary.
Playing off the concept of "wishing upon a star," Disney's Wish sees 17-year-old Asha, a sharp-witted idealist, make a wish so powerful that it's answered by a cosmic force -- a ball of boundless energy known as Star. Together, they must confront King Magnifico to save the kingdom of Rosas.
Wish doesn't only celebrate Disney's rich history of animation, but music as well. The film features original songs by Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Michaels and Grammy-winning producer/songwriter/musician Rice, plus a score by Dave Metzger.
Walt Disney Animation is coming off the box office flop Strange World, but Wish looks like a return to form for the studio with gorgeous animation and beautiful songs. Wish is not only shaping up to be a box office hit but also a film potentially as big as Frozen.
Asha may not officially be a Disney Princess, but she certainly shares many of the same traits. She figures to become the next big star in Disney's long line of empowering and inspirational characters.
Disney's Wish arrives in theaters next month on November 22. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased through Fandango.
