Toy Story Funday Football: When and how to watch Week 4's matchup between the Falcons and Jaguars
With Week 3 of the NFL season in the books, we can now officially turn our attention towards the Week 4 slate of games, which also happens to be when Disney will premiere its special broadcast — Toy Story Funday Football.
Announced earlier this month, Toy Story Funday Football is Disney and the NFL's attempt to reach a younger audience by presenting a professional football game as if it were an animated Pixar film.
The inaugural Toy Story Funday Football game will take place this week on Saturday, October 1st — during a game between the Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars. Here's how you can tune in and what you should expect.
How to watch Toy Story Funday Football this week
Toy Story Funday Football will be presented through Disney+ and ESPN+. It will feature a matchup between the Atlanta Falcons (2-1) and Jacksonville Jaguars (1-2) as the teams meet across the pond in London's Wembley Stadium.
Because it's being played overseas, the game will air at 9:30 a.m. ET stateside. While London games may not be popular with those on the West Coast of the United States, I love being able to wake up and turn on football right away.
What to expect with Toy Story Football Funday
Using real-time, state-of-the-art tracking technology, Disney and ESPN will broadcast the game as if it were being played by a bunch of toys in Andy's bedroom. Additionally, the presentation package will also adopt a Toy Story overlay, including announcers Drew Carter, Booger McFarland, and Pepper Persley — all of whom will have their body movements tracked and animated as if they were toys.
There will also be guest appearances from Toy Story characters like Woody, Buzz, Bo Peep, Bullseye and the rest of the beloved cast of the films. And to top it all off, Canada's greatest daredevil and stuntman, Duke Caboom, will perform a daring halftime motorcycle jump.
The fun begins this Saturday, October 1st at 9:30 a.m. ET only on Disney+ and ESPN+.
