8. Yacht Club

It’s often tempting to put the Yacht and Beach Clubs together because of how close they are in location and theming. They also share facilities from the spa to the gym to the arcade. The biggest incentive is Stormalong Bay, the single best pool area of any Disney resort. That combines with some great restaurants such as the Ale & Compass and the excellent Yachtsman Steakhouse.

A drawback is the nautical theme may not seem that fun for kids. There are great models of boats in the lobby, yet little when it comes to Disney theming, the resort is a bit lacking. So while a top-notch place for its food alone, the Yacht Club may seem a tad too upscale for some guests.

7. Beach Club

In contrast to the Yacht Club, the Beach Club is all about fun. The theme here is more lively, with great showcases of beaches and emphasizing the ocean fun. It feels more natural stepping out of the beach club to Stormalong Bay. Just like the Yacht Club, its closeness to Epcot and the Studios leads to its popularity in how you can walk to Epcot from it.

There is a slight drawback in that the dining options are more for fast fare than sit-down eating. Also, the same lack of Disney theming may turn some families off. However, if it’s a choice between the two, the Beach Club has a slight edge even if Stormalong Bay and the location make either resort a must for guests.
