Want to hit a Disney water park for free? Walt Disney World is about to offer the ultimate perk for guests staying there in 2025! Find out more here!

While fans have long enjoyed the Disney resorts and their plethora of amazing pools, there’s also the draw of their two huge water parks. Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach had been fantastic for years, with guests loving their different themes and scores of water-based fun for families, especially in the summer.

After a long time of operating simultaneously, the two parks have shifted to a schedule where one is open for half the year while the other is closed. Right now, Typhoon Lagoon is closed but set to reopen on March 17, while Blizzard Beach closes then and is not expected to reopen until later in the fall of 2024.

Disney has long offered a simple one-day ticket to each park or added them onto a multi-day park pass. But now, a new special deal offers free access to Disney resort guests.

What’s the new free water park deal?

Just announced by Disney, the new deal goes into effect on January 1st, 2025, and runs through the rest of the year. Guests at any Walt Disney World resort will have instant free access to either Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon on the same day as checking in.

There are the usual caveats, such as how this is non-transferable or refundable should the water park be closed on the check-in date. Again, this only counts for the actual check-in day. Also, this doesn't count for guests at third-party Disney hotels such as the Swan, Dolphin or Shades of Green.

This may seem like a wild idea to go from the hotel to a water park. However, many Disney Resort guests do enjoy spending their first day at the hotel pool. To be able to check in in the morning, then a free day at either Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon is a fantastic way to kick off a Disney vacation.

The deal doesn’t take effect until next January, but it’s another wonderful perk for Disney World resort guests to toss a free day at a water park as part of the Disney vacation experience.
