The Nightmare Before Christmas Manga gets full-color editions

Back in 2017, Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas was adapted into a manga by Tokyopop. It was essentially a retelling of the original movie in a "one-of-a-kind manga style." The only downside was that it was only printed in black and white — until now.

Just in time for Halloween, or even Christmas for those who believe The Nightmare Before Christmas is more of a holiday movie, Tokyopop is now publishing the manga in full-color.

Disney Manga: Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas (Full-Color Manga Edition) is a 176-page, fully-colorized version of the manga by Jun Asuka (Disney Fairies: The Petite Fairy's Diary). It also features new cover artwork by artist Manuel Puppo (Marvel's Voices).

It's available for pre-order right now on Amazon with a release date of Halloween, October 31st. It normally retails for $19.99 but as of this writing, you can pre-order it for 20% off at $15.98.

Also set to arrive in October is Disney Manga: Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas — Zero's Journey (Ultimate Full-Color Graphic Novel Edition). This deluxe collectors' edition combines the entire Zero's Journey series — fully colorized for the first time — into one hardcover book with a never-before-published cover illustration by Kei Ishiyama, one of the original artists for the original series.

Zero's Journey serves as a sequel story to The Nightmare Before Christmas, following Jack Skellington's faithful ghost pup, Zero, as he attempts to find his way home from Christmas Town. The description reads:

"Finding himself lost in a curious land of baked goods, hand-wrapped presents, decorated trees, and joyful caroling, Zero must traverse the unfamiliar world of Christmas Town to find his way home!"

Disney Manga: Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas - Zero's Journey (Ultimate Full-Color Graphic Novel Edition) is available for pre-order for $49.99. It will release on Tuesday, October 8th.
