Why Elemental would be a perfect fifth gate option for Disney World
By Brian Miller
As a family film, Elemental was a perfect Friday night movie with the kids. Sure, it isn't a perfect film but it was enjoyable. After the film was over, aside from the stunning color palet, Elemental left me with one thought. Why this would be a perfect build for a 5th gate Disney World theme park.
I often think about what a 5th gate might bring to Disney World. It can't be themed like EPCOT, no World Showcase and it can't be like Hollywood Studios where an entire land is themed around Star Wars. It can't nature or animals, Animal Kingdom has that covered and let's face it, you can't recreate Magic Kingdom.
It has to have a flow like every other park. A central theme that the other parks may have a little of but not a focus on. Enter, Elemental.
Disney could use the film as a basis for a new park. A park that could simply be called Elements. Four sections of the park each dedicated to the four elements. Earth, Water, Wind, and Fire.
Each themed area consists of attractions that fit within that element. The park could be laid out similarly to EPCOT. Four branches with each element represented and a central hub that focuses on how the four elements come together.
There is your challenge Imagineers!
It makes sense because it is a theme and could have one of Disney's Pixar properties themed throughout but not a central part or key of the park. You wouldn't build a park about the film Elemental, you would simply theme a park with portions of it in mind.
At it's very core, another park designed as an educational tool that not only enlightens and entertains but teaches how each element is necessary for our existence.
Elemental is currently streaming on Disney+.
