Are the original actors in or not?

So far, Disney is only saying that Moana and Maui are back but not that Cravalho and Johnson are reprising the roles. Had this been meant for a TV show, it seems unlikely they'd have come back for it as Disney has a habit of replacing the big-name movie stars with different voices for a TV version.

It's possible there may have been different actors, and while it's logical the main pair will return for the sequel, the busy schedules of both may mean different actors, which automatically lowers the appeal. Let's face it: the Aladdin TV show's Genie always paled next to Robin Williams's take, so hearing others voicing these characters is going to be off.

There’s no Lin-Manuel Miranda music

The joy of Moana was the fantastic tunes by Tony award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda with "How Far I'll Go" and "Shiny," some of the best Disney animated songs since the 1990s heyday. One would think latching onto Miranda for the sequel would be key, but he's not doing it.

Instead, the music will be handled by Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, who previously made waves with their Grammy-winning album The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical. Also listed as songwriters are Grammy nominee Opetaia Foa'i and Grammy winner Mark Mancina.

Now, this is nothing to sneeze at as these people are quite capable and should be able to provide fun tunes. But Miranda brought special magic and heart to the original movie with inventive music to fit the story. Trying to replace him is daunting, and there are concerns that the new songs won't be the same earworm tunes the original movie boasted.
