The Haunted Mansion is an attraction located in the Magic Kingdom at Disney World in Orlando, and there is another mansion that is haunted at Disneyland. It's also one of the attractions guests should never miss.
If you have been to Magic Kingdom before, naturally, you have ridden Haunted Mansion. Likely many times but for first time visitors, I have been asked, "Is this a ride I should wait in line for?" The answer is yes.
Wait times can exceed 90 minutes on busy days, and that might be a bit too much. That being said, if you wait until later in the day, just prior to the fireworks, the wait time can be as low as 40 minutes on a busy day.
Yes, the attraction is a bit cheesy, but it is supposed to be. There is so much to take in as you ride it that you will likely miss things the first time, making this attraction one of the few repeat rides in any park that are not thrill rides. The mansion is a favorite for a reason. From the cast members to the stand by line, you arrive and are taken onto the grounds of a mansion filled with humor and enough to keep you entertrained while you wait.
This attraction is a dark ride, and there are ghosts, albeit fun and kooky ones, but for some children, it might be a little much. My five-year-old loves it and has been riding it since he was two, so he is used to it. No one knows your kids better than you do. Everything gets much better and less "scary" when you leave the entry theater and approach the actual ride.
The cars are continuously moving vehicles, which makes the ride a little quicker. Overall, this is simply a fun attraction that, again, you can experience over and over again and find new things that grab your attention.
Five star rating: This is a solid 4.
