It's hard to believe that Halloween is just a couple of days away. And after that, it's officially the holiday season. It's one of the most magical times to visit Walt Disney World, although also one of the busiest.

This year, Disney has already confirmed that Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party will be kicking off on November 8th. But when can we expect the holiday decorations to officially start going up at Magic Kingdom and the rest of the parks?

Disney doesn't usually announce a specific date for this, but as a general rule of thumb, Walt Disney World's holiday deocrations go up at Magic Kingdom on November 1st -- the very next day after Halloween.

If you've never seen the magical transformation from Halloween to Christmas, I suggest you check out the behind-the-scenes video below. Disney cast and crew work throughout the night to transform the Halloween overlay into Christmas and it truly is an impressive thing.

Now it's worth noting that Disney may not have all of its holiday decorations fully up on November 1st, but a good portion of it will be. If you're heading to Magic Kingdom prior to the start of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, you'll most certainly see at least some of the holiday decorations.

What sort of holiday decorations can you expect at Magic Kingdom?

The bulk of the holiday decorations at Magic Kingdom are confined to Main Street. This is where you'll see buildings adorned with bright holday lights, beautiful wreaths, holiday statues, and the largest Christmas tree you'll ever see. Throughout the park you'll also find holiday backdrops for photo opportunities, specially-themed treats, and more.

Unfortunately, Disney now gatekeeps a lot of its holiday magic behind the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party ticketed event. It no longer snows on Main Street every night anymore and many of the delicious holiday treats are not sold during regular park hours.

Still though, between the cooler weather and beautiful decorations, experiencing Magic Kingdom at Christmastime is an amazing experience. And it should begin as early as November 1st!

It's also worth noting that Magic Kingdom isn't the only park to celebrate the holidays anymore. In recent years, Disney World has introduced Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios. This is another special ticketed event that takes place after normal park hours. But as a result, Hollywood Studios also has some fun Christmas decorations during the seaon.
