Over the years, Figment, the mascot of Imagination, has also become the defacto mascot for EPCOT. Disney has leaned heavily into the small purple dragon for some of the park's big festivals, most notably the Festival of the Arts.
Although Journey Into Imagination is outdated and lame, Figment holds a dear place in many Disney fans' hearts. It's almost like a cult classic attraction at this point. He's got a small but loyal fanbase who will follow him to the end of the Earth.
And I imagine that's exactly who Disney's new Holiday Sweater is marketed towards. Available now at Walt Disney World for the 2024 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays is a Figment-inspired holiday sweater.
The new holiday sweater is exactly like the one Figment wears at Journey Into Imagination. What I really like about it though is that it's not too over the top.
I guess some are referring to it as a "ugly" holiday sweater, but honestly, I like it. I don't think there's anything ugly about it.
If anything, it just kind of looks like a generic holiday pattern. It's a quarter zip sweater that features the Imagination! pavilion logo at the center with a pattern of white snowflakes around it. Although it's a recreation of the one he wears, you really wouldn't know unless you were a fan of the ride. It's subtle, and I like that. I also really like the white trim for the sleeves.
Unfortunately, it comes with a bit of a hefty price tag. It's priced at $74.99 which is too rich for my cheap blood, but pretty standard for Disney sweater prices. You can find it for sale at Creation Shop in World Celebration at EPCOT.
