Unless you're a hermit forsaking all media outlets, you know who Bluey is. The beloved Australian animated series has absolutely captured fans around the world, but it goes so much deeper than just a mild obsession.

Thanks to a little help from Disney+, the series has reached global acclaim and has been topping the charts for years. Although a previous report showed Bluey toppled by other animated series, the latest Nielsen ratings share a different story.

Bluey Back On Top

Since 2018, Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, and Chilli have become household names to families (with and without children) everywhere. Things are only going to get bigger and better for the beloved blue dog, as a recent partnership between Ludo and Disney sees the characters making their way to the theme parks, cruise ships, and even a big-screen adaptation.

Of course, being one of the most-watched shows on our screen certainly helps establish Bluey as the top dog. A recent Nielsen report showed that the show is not only one of the most successful currently streaming but also one of the most watched.

The Nielsen Ratings gauge what the population is watching at a given time. Basically, it's an estimate of how much time viewers spend viewing a specific show, movie, or program on their screens. While there are more than a few popular contenders, Bluey has consistently found herself at least in the top 10 more than once.

At the time of writing, Bluey sits in spot number three on Nielsen's top ten overall streaming list. Ranking in with 1,083 million minutes of total viewership, the delightful animated adventures of the Heeler family tower over other iconic fixtures like Grey's Anatomy, Family Guy, and Bob's Burgers, just to name a few.

This is great news for Ludo Studio and Bluey creator Joe Brumm, but it's even better news for The Walt Disney Company. After all, if consumers are willing to spend hours getting their fix, imagine what they'll do when Bluey and Bingo come to the parks.

Megacorporation comments aside, this is undoubtedly a good omen for both the show and its fans. It speaks volumes about both Bluey's longevity and our collective desire for wholesome material on our screens. One only has to look at the latest news feeds to see why the world needs the Heelers now more than ever. Here's hoping they can carry that win into 2025 and reach the number-one spot.

Bluey and all her friends can be streamed on Disney+ and ABC iView.
