Bluey is slated to get a redesign for her upcoming film, but a perfect variant might already exist.

Bluey fans around the world are on pins and needles for the new full-length feature film adaptation in 2027, but things are about to change. Although Bluey creator Joe Brumm is devoting all of his time and energy to make the movie great, one development has some fans biting their nails.

Along with the official announcement, it was revealed that Bluey would be getting a CG makeover for the occasion. That's not an uncommon practice for TV show characters making the transition to film, but fans might not need to be so uptight because a redesign has happened before.

All New (and Blue)

Here's what Bluey's official blog says about the future update,

"The CG animated film will be produced by award-winning animation producer Amber Naismith (‘Happy Feet’, ‘The Lego Movie’, ‘The Lego Batman Movie’) with Richard Jeffery returning to co-direct (’Bluey’ Series 1-3). Joe Brumm will serve as executive producer, alongside Charlie Aspinwall and Daley Pearson from Ludo Studio, and Justine Flynn for BBC Studios."

This writer has shared previous thoughts as to what "CG" might actually mean for Bluey, Bingo, and all the rest. It might be the case that the look isn't entirely computer generated but rather enhanced for a more cinematic quality. This was briefly teased in the episode "The Adventure" in season 1, but it might be better if they took a different direction. Take a look at the clip below.

"Dragon" is an episode where Ludo's artists really get a chance to show off, but the way Chilli's style truly pops off the screen makes this Bluey buff think we might see it again. It's clearly a different flavor of what we're normally used to, and a little spit and polish from some CGI sharpening could work wonders.

The truth of the matter is we really don't know what Ludo and Disney will do, and we likely won't until the first teaser drops. That said, it's not like the show hasn't breadcrumbed its audience many times before.

This writer is hopeful that Disney let's Ludo do its thing, and Bluey and all her friends will be ready to jump off the screen with a new, but familiar, look in 2027. Until then, all we can do is wait. As Calypso once said, "Everything will work out the way it's supposed to."

The Bluey Movie doesn't premiere until 2027, but the show can be streamed on Disney+ and ABC iView.
