It seems Disney is leaning into the fervor for classic characters and minimalist, functional designs with their newest line of merchandise. Daisy Duck is finally getting her time to shine on her 85th anniversary with new themed apparel by Cakeworthy available today, and a Loungefly collection available May 19th!
The representation of classic characters in the Disney Parks has been consistent, but lately, everyone but Mickey and Minnie has fallen by the wayside. For example, did you know that Daisy was originally Donna? In 1937, "Donna Duck" was introduced before being adapted to Daisy in 1940, and the rest is history!
This collection focuses on softer, pastel colors and simple designs. My favorite, and one of the items I think will sell out quickly, is the T-shirt dress by Cakeworthy. It reminds me of the 1980s-era nightshirts, and with that era making a strong comeback, I can guess this item will be pretty popular.

The Cakeworthy line also includes a regular t-shirt, the cutest white baseball cap, a pullover sweatshirt, and new denim shorts. I love the smaller details on the shorts, and that loose fit would be so comfortable in the parks!

Can we also take a moment to appreciate the ribbon on the back of the hat? Adorable! The entire Cakeworthy collaboration is available starting today, May 2, on DisneyStore.com!

Now let's take an exclusive look at the new Daisy Duck 85th Anniversary collection by Loungefly! This collection looks just as functional as it is cute, with a variety of bags and that same minimalist, but colorful, aesthetic.
The crossbody features simulated leather, gold-tone hardware, and a detachable, adjustable shoulder strap. It's giving picnic basket vibes to me, so this is perfect for a cosplay or Disneybound! It also seems super spacious without being bulky, which is always a plus in the parks! So go ahead! Get another t-shirt, or pin, or pair of ears...

Loungefly is also releasing a mini backpack in the classic shape featuring Daisy in her signature purple top and pink bow, and a hip pack + coin purse combo with an adjustable strap. The mini backpack is perfect for those who prefer some sparkle and space to pack, while the hip pack + coin purse is ideal for those of us who hate carrying things and love a subtle Disney nod.

These could also be the cutest way to match with your little duckling! Halloween isn't that far away... fans have more than a few options.
