It’s a few weeks until Halloween but Disney World is already announcing some big stuff for the holiday season! Here’s a quick peek at what to expect at Disney World for the Christmas season!
It’s a joke among Disney fans that on November 1st, the Halloween decor vanishes and it’s Christmas time. Walt Disney World always goes wild for the holiday season and more so since the pandemic ended. Disney has just announced the big stuff coming for 2024, which includes some terrific favorite traditions alongside some new surprises!
EPCOT
As usual, Epcot offers some fun stuff, starting with the Around the World stories. Each World Showcase pavilion boasts a look at how that nation celebrates either Christmas or their own local holidays. From the Bar Santa in Norway to Italy’s La Befana witch to celebrating Hanukkah, it’s always a treat.
Communicore West will host the Jam at JOYFUL!, with gospel and R&B takes on Christmas classics. There will be four performances a day by rotating artists, so check the schedules.
Disney also announced the speakers for the traditional Candlelight Procession. Every night, there will be a procession with a choir and a celebrity sharing a Christmas story backed by a 50-piece orchestra and the Voices of Liberty. This year's slate includes some returning stars along with a few new faces like Karate Kid star Ralph Macchio.

Throw in the traditional holiday treats and a special fireworks show and Epcot is one of the best places to celebrate the Christmas season in Walt Disney World.
ANIMAL KINGDOM
After years of just waving to guests from the parades, Santa Claus will now be available for meet and greets at the 75th Annual Dino Institute Holiday Party on the patio at Restaurantosaurus. It runs from November 12th to Christmas Eve and the little ones can meet Santa for photos.
Discovery Island brings back the Merry Menagerie with guests able to enjoy these imaginative puppets. And of course Mickey and Minnie will be by in special holiday garb as well.
HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS:
Some brand-new entertainment is coming to the Studios this year:
- The Juggling Elves: a fun elf-themed troupe doing comedy and juggling routines for guests
- The Holiday Spirit Band: A roaming brass band doing big-band versions of Christmas favorites
- Seasons Jukebox: A rhythm band-style group of drummers, trumpets, and dancers doing some great numbers.
Throw in the usual favorites like a holiday overlay for Frozen: For the First Time In Forever and Sunset Seasons Greetings light show and the Studios will be rocking nicely.
There’s still word waiting on the Magic Kingdom’s latest take on their classic holiday parties but it looks like Walt Disney World has some extra bonuses to push the holiday season in 2024!
