It looks like one of Disney+/Marvel's bigger TV shows may get a follow-up after all!

The MCU has had its ups and downs as of late. Captain America: Brave New World may have had a great opening weekend but poor reviews and word of mouth may hold it back. At least in television, the MCU is going strong.

That included Agatha All Along, which was not only a hit with viewers but critical raves, too. It was a follow-up to WandaVision, the first Disney+ Marvel show, and a showcase for the scene-stealing witch Agatha Harkness, played by Kathryn Hahn.

The series followed Agatha regaining her memories and going a journey for power alongside a pack of witches and a mysterious man named Teen (Joe Locke). From there, fans were treated to a series of music, twists and amazing set pieces.

The show seemed to be a one-and-done limited series. In fact, star Patti LuPone shared in an interview with Andy Cohen on how she thought the series was finished, quoting show creator Jack Schaffer claiming "I don't do second seasons."

However, speaking to Entertainment Weekly on the future of Marvel TV, Brad Winderbaum, the head of streaming, television, and animation at Marvel, hinted that the door is open for a second season.

"I think it's 'linear series potential. A show like Agatha, to me, is concept based. Yes, a second season for sure is something that we would want to do, but let's not rush it. Let's get the right idea and then make it."

So are we going to see more of our favorite wicked witch on screen?

What could Agatha All Along Season 2 be about?

Be warned: Some SPOILERS for Agatha All Along season 1 are ahead. The first season confirmed the fan theory that Teen was Billy, one of Wanda Maximoff's sons. While Agatha appeared to have died, she was now in ghostly form as she and Billy were on a quest to find Billy's twin brother, Tommy.

That appeared to be obvious sequel fodder, although it's likely to play into the upcoming Vision series starring Paul Bettany. Yet continuing the Billy/Agatha team is a fine idea.

Winderbaum compared this to the 2021 Hawkeye series set at Christmas time and how a future season can work.

"Hawkeye is another one that feels like you can make a second season of that show because it's Christmas, because it's Clint and Kate. You can kind of revisit it whenever, and we're looking for opportunities to do that. But as we develop things for the future, I think they're going to be designed to be multiple seasons, have more of a pattern, and be able to be released annually."

The key to any second season is Hahn and Schaeffer. The latter's creative vision was key to the show's unique design and approach. Obviously, an Agatha series needs Hahn as her stellar performance made the entire character work and become a huge fan favorite.

Some fans may worry that a second season won't be as great as the first one was. Marvel does have a tendency to milk things a bit too much, and Agatha might have been better in these smaller appearances than pushed harder.

This is still just speculation as Marvel has a record of planning various TV shows that don't come off. Yet this leaves the door open that Agatha Harkness makes another return for a magical series.
