A lot goes into planning a trip to Walt Disney World. If you have flexibility in scheduling your trip, you may be wondering when is the best time of year to head to WDW. Whether it's the weather or the crowd sizes, each can impact your visit. Everyone's schedule is different, so here are some of the worst and best times of year to visit Walt Disney World. Just remember, even a trip to Disney during the worst time is still better than no trip at all.

The worst times to visit Walt Disney World

We might as well start by getting out of the way of the times when guests shouldn't visit Walt Disney World. Right now, the park is in a unique situation in that attendance is reportedly down, which logically would mean this is a good time to visit to avoid longer lines.

However, a key reason for that poor attendance is that Florida is in the midst of a terrible summer with heat indexes over a hundred degrees. Summer weather in Orlando can be rough, not just with heat but unexpected rainstorms. It gets worse during hurricane season as August and September can bring some rougher weather. Crowds in the summer are also typically larger since it's prime vacation time for many families since the kids are out of school.

Another time to avoid the parks is around the holidays, especially Thanksgiving through New Year's, as many want to see the Christmas decorations at the parks. March is also a tricky time because spring break can often result in larger crowds and longer queues.

So now we've got the worst times out of the way, when would be the best periods to visit Walt Disney World?
